Around 12 months ago, Biodecon began developing an idea to create a High Level Disinfection (HLD) Traceability App that would help our customers with the detailed record keeping required to demonstrate compliance with the latest transducer reprocessing requirements.
Our customers needed a fast and user-friendly solution, that would make data record keeping so simple and quick staff wouldn't even realise the level of detail being captured. The process needed to be hassle-free, intuitive and easy to use, but also minimise any risk of data entry errors.
With guidance from our App development partners, MaxGen, the Biodecon HLD Traceability App came to life in early 2018 - ticking all the boxes for a fast and easy to use data recording solution.
To manage the launch of the HLD Traceability App, Biodecon brought on-board our Implementation Superstar - Eilis Howett. Eilis has not only been the backbone for implementing the App, she has played a fundamental part in the design and development process - she knows the HLD Traceability App inside-out!
Biodecon has now successfully rolled the HLD Traceability App out to over 35 of our Trophon sites around New Zealand.

Using Quick Response (QR) code technology, the HLD Traceability App reduces the time it takes to record HLD data to just a few seconds. The App is downloaded on to a mobile device (iPhone, iPod or Android) and using the device's camera it captures key data in real time from QR codes set up on the Trophons and ultrasound transducers. The user-friendly interface ensures a simple, quick and reliable process that minimises the risk of manual data entry errors. The data captured on the HLD Traceability App is stored in the cloud and collated into Batch Reports, which are sent out to customers monthly, fortnightly or on demand.
